Morals... Morals... Morals. This is the dominate topic on my mind these days. It sometimes seems to be the only topic on my mind. We have started into a new series on "Morals" in the youth Sunday School department at WBC. I have really had a hard time finding materials on this subject (if you have suggestions let me know). But that has forced me to spend more time praying and meditating, asking God for His guidance. The more of this I do the more the burden for this topic grows. I am seeing more and more the need for this study among our students. I began my research in this area feeling like this generation was really lacking in their understanding of what I felt to be basic Christain morals. They seem to struggle with things that seem so obviously wrong. But the more I have prayed about this the more convicted I have become. I have realized that the problem does not lie in the laps of these students (not to minimalize their responsibility) but rather with my own generation and those just ahead of me. We are the ones who have been tasked with passing on God's Word and His moral system to the next generations (Matthew 28:20). And it seems we have been failing miserably. Please pray for us as we work through this series. Pray that God burdens us as teachers to invest in these students and encourage them towards purity and righteousness. Pray that God reaches into the hearts and minds of our students, giving them a desire to love and honor Christ Jesus in all they do and say each and every day!
