The Sin of Silence

This past weekend we had a guest speaker at church Dr Bill Fay. He is an evangelist who was coming to encourage and challenge our church to get involved in personal and corporate evangelism. He really was a great speaker and made some very good points as he presented a very simple and easy way in which to share the gospel with people. As he said most of us have numerous excuses and reservations that prevent us from regularly sharing our faith with people. We took time to discuss and squelch many of those excuses such as fear of rejection, fear of not knowing enough scripture, or just simply being apathetic. These often cause us to be silent regarding our call to share our faith. This is the "sin of silence".
Bill outlined his simple plan in which you can use 5 easy questions to enter into a conversation with them that could allow the opportunity to present the Gospel. Then of course it is up to Christ to do His thing.
I have not yet had the opportunity but I am looking forward to trying the simple plan that he laid out for us to use to share the gospel with people. Please pray for these encounters. I will let you know how it goes!

I listened to Bill Fays teaching on Share Jesus Without Fear last weekend and went out this afternoon door to door around my neighbourhood to share the gospel using the method outlined. I love it! It takes all the pressure away from you. As with all evangelism there is all types of responses but for those who responded it was wonderful to have them read the scriptures and see the Holy Spirit work on their heart. I recommend anyone who is interested to listen to the teaching on http://www.sharejesuswithoutfear.com/templates/System/details.asp?id=27043&PID=139113
